6:58 pm	AT-SAT  So, I realized I failed to post a notice on here that I was to take an aptitude test for Air Traffic Control.  Well, test came and went, I took a trip down to Peachtree City, Georgia at the beginning of this month, and to cut right to the chase......wait for it.....I Passed!!  Woot!  89.5 of a possible 100, which places me in the "highly qualified" category.  Not bad for a guy that hasnt exercised his brain to capacity since high school.  Grading worked like so.  70 and above required to pass.  70-85 renders the applicant qualified, 85+ is highly qualified.  Now I basically sit back and wait on a phone call.  The test is over, now there are basically interviews and a psychological examination, etc.  My name is now slated to stay in the applicant pool for the next three years.  Being as I scored on the higher end of the applicant pool, my name will be processed quicker.  A bit of proof that I still got it (ego at work).  Mwahaha. 6:11 am	You know how sometimes people on your friend's list post about stuff going on in their life, and all of a sudden you think "Wait a minute? Since when are they working THERE? Since when are they dating HIM/HER? since when???" And then you wonder how you could have missed all that seemingly pretty standard information, but somehow you feel too ashamed to ask for clarification because it seems like info you *should* already know? It happens to all of us sometimes. 1. First name: Steve. 2. Age: 24, will be 25 on the 22nd of July. 3. Location: Gastonia, North Carolina 4. Hometown: Biloxi, Mississippi.  Dont really remember anything about it. 5. Occupation: Presently in the inspection and shipping dept. of a small furniture manufacturing company. 6. Partner: bunnychan, been with her for almost 8 years, known her for 10 now.  Hopefully we'll be getting married next year. 7. Kids: negative 8. 4:01 pm	Update for whateva Havent updated in a bit on this particular journal, so heres something just to make sure its at least active to some extent. Up at Cullowhee this weekend, and having a good time. Went to Ashville on Friday, had great Chinese food. Got into a new Brand of clothing thats awesome in its own right, like Affliction. Brand is called One More Round, you can check them out at onemoreroundclothing.com. They do some sponsorship with fighters, which is how I found out about them. Very nice, available at Buckle, Nordstrom, yknow, the usual high fashion/lifestyle places. That aside, pleased to say fitness endeavors continue to yield results, you can check out my other journal, arrant_fitness to read about how that goes down, I have pictures and am due for some more before too long I suppose.  Shanda graduated from boot camp.  I knew she would be fine, and Im happy for her.  Miss having her about though, Gastonia gradually grows trite, and dull.  I dont work with Jim anymore, he quit (without really having anything else lined up).  Brent quit his job at Books A Million, also has nada.  I worry, because they talk of going on a travelling expedition.  Ok, with what funds, and what plan?  There isnt one that Ive seen, and it concerns me that folks can throw caution to the wind and be so bullheadedly, even ridiculously, reckless.  Surprisingly, even Jims once again girlfriend, Jessica (this must be the 4th time now) showed interest.  I dont care for her, but I thought she had more of a head on her shoulders.  Then again, her talking about something and actually doing it has always been two different things.  So, hey, more power to them, but this is one bandwagon I couldnt in good conscience join, however romantic it sounds.  Its more of a fantasy, and does little to nothing to secure a future where you dont have to work until your either 70+ or dead. Going on a tangent right fast, quitting your job before having another job lined up?  Stupid, foolish...take your pick in terms.  I wouldnt care at the end of the day if it didnt put me on the spot with the upcoming convention.  Jim has known for a year when the convention is upcoming.  Then hes going to blow it and quit, and not bother to look for the longest time for a job.  News flash, con is less than a month out.  Better have something lined up before its time, because Im not taking IOU's this time, and Im just planning on people not showing.  Money is up front or its no go.  Even if that means I have to shell out more money, Im not playing host to freeloaders anymore. /rant.  On a positive note, I submitted my paperwork to the FAA, a true attempt at a forward moving career.  It may  or may not pan out, but I have a few other options lined up that Ill pursue in the event this one doesnt.  Im too old to be procrastinating anymore, I have a life and loved one to think about, so I have to work for something.  The more I earn, the better mine and Buns quality of life will be.  1 Code to live by. 4:25 pm	Moving Well, moving time is quick upon me.  Its a bit of a last minute thing, as I determined while I could afford to live with Jim by m'self, I just dont feel like it anymore.  Itll cost more to stay, along with the same annoying hassles that come with living with a guy that cares little for hygiene.  So...Ill be going back to the folks for a bit, theyve graciously offered to let me stay there between places.  Thatll give me a great opportunity to save a great deal of money, and I think it opens the door again to seriously make career pursuits.  It only gets harder, so I plan to jump on this opportunity and make the most of my chances.  I dont know as of now where exactly my career path lies, though I have some ideas that have been in my head a while now.  Ill go wherever the winds of change blow. Back to moving, Ive already chunked 8 bags of garbage, and filled three 45 gallon containers with mine and Buns belongings.  That took care of a great deal, though I may invest in one or two more, since they happen to have wheels, making them easy to tug about.  Its good to be able to consolidate everything that way, makes moving a lot smoother.  I dont know exactly when moving day is, could be tomorrow, the next day, or next week....not certain yet.  But better to be prepared, so today I do the grunt work.  Current Mood: determined What's the quality of a true warrior?

8:29 pm	A somewhat belated Merry Christmas to all Had a good day today.  I have to say honestly its the best Christmas Ive had in the last 5 years.  Good attitudes from Buns family, lots of food, a major boom in gifts from all kinds of unexpected sources.  Hung out this afternoon into the evening with my folks, had dinner with them, got presents, and went on a "treasure hunt" with mom to find her gift, a gold/diamond necklace ultimately found around the neck of the angel atop the christmas tree.  We ate, watched Quidam, my folks first viewing of the Cirque du Soleil.  They want to see more (obviously).  Now, on to the seasons yield.... Hey everyone, just another reminder that my new side journal, arrant_fitness  is up, and will be getting underway soon.  The Kettlebell and DVD arrived yesterday, Ive given them a test run.  I did make a post there, and will 'launch' the journal officially tomorrow.  I will be documenting workouts, maybe articles here and there, progression photos, and maybe more.  Its for public view, so anyone can see it.  Never know what you can learn by my experience (or mistakes X.x) Onward and upward!   Current Mood: pleased What's the quality of a true warrior?

9:19 pm	A new Side Journal I went ahead and created my new side journal,  arrant_fitness.  There I will be documenting workouts (breakdowns and results), any dietary info, insights, etc.  I hope to use it as a tool to mark progress using intermittent photos combined with regular updates that mark the days physical activity.  That will be starting soon, contingent upon the receipt of my in-transit 35lb. 9:17 pm	Only at Oakley Vault..... ......do you find a one-off pair of jeans that retail at $180.00 for a criminal deal of $20.00....which is what i did today.  One and only pair in stock, and I nabbed them.  Crazy comfortable, moreso than any other pair I have, which says a lot considereing I paid less for them than any other pair Ive purchased over time from the Vault.  Its criminal, I tell you.  But who am I to complain?  Now if only I could get such and unearthly deal on Affliction wear. Buns got some sweet new clothes today herself.  Got a pair of Sinful shirts, a pair of Oakley jeans and a cute short sleeve hoody.  Looks good on her.  ^^   We got our fix of bubble tea too at the little smoothie kiosk at Northlake, so that completed todays good experience.   Been a good weekend overall, had some turkey, plenty of desserts pushed on me.  I think the dessert is likely to last through the week.  Im not a big snack person, but I sure dont like to waste a good homemade pie or cheesecake, so Ill splurge just a bit this week on eating.  Consider it my last slack eating lineup before I brutalize myself with the kettlebell that should be arriving Tuesday....and the DVD instructional on its heels.  Im so freaking excited to be getting this underway!    Im also considering starting a secondary journal to document my workouts/progress/etc.  If I decide to go with it, itll contain workout breakdowns, progression photos, insights, comments, and the like.  Basically a tool for anyone interested to see and something to help keep motivation at peak.
